We're so excited about the upcoming projects and plans for Hip Flask and the Elephantmen this year, we've dubbed it The Year of the Elephant! See, we designed a logo and everything! :) Here's a rundown of what's coming in just the first few jam-packed months:
- Elephantmen #6, featuring a story drawn by David (SPAWN/CIVIL WAR/STRANGE EMBRACE) Hine and a flip cover by J. Scott (DANGER GIRL) Campbell.
- The Hip Flask: Concrete Jungle oversized hardcover edition, collects Hip Flask: Elephantmen and Hip Flask: Mystery City. 96 massive pages, cover-to-cover Ladrönn!
- Elephantmen #7 wraps up our first story arc with the long-awaited "Captain Stoneheart and the Truth Fairy" by Joe (SUPERMAN) Kelly & Chris (X-MEN) Bachalo, spectacularly colored by LIQUID's Aron Lusen. 40 pages, no ads, still just $2.99!
- The Elephantmen: Wounded Animals hardcover collects Elephantmen #1-7 in their entirety, backup stories, covers and all.
- Elephantmen #8 features one-eyed zebra cop Trench in his first full-length story, and a backup tale by Jill Freshney and Rob (FLANIMALS) Steen, featuring, well... you'll just have to see it to believe it.
Subsequent months will have guest-star covers and backup stories by the likes of David (V FOR VENDETTA) Lloyd, Michael T. (MR. MONSTER) Gilbert, Steve (DOC FRANKENSTEIN) Skroce, Ian (SUPERGIRL) Churchill and Chris (NIXON'S PALS) Burnham, plus a special 40-page "Pilot" issue featuring stories and pinups, many never before seen!
For more details, check out this interview with Richard at Newsarama, which includes a four-page preview of Dave Hine's story from #6 and an eye-popping Chris Bachalo spread from #7.
In addition, you can read the story "See the Elephant" from issue #1 there in its entirety!
