In the mid sixties, Flask was thrown on to the small screen in amongst a
flurry of young adult oriented programming which included BATMAN, TIME
TUNNEL and THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. In an odd twist of fate, HIP FLASK, AGENT OF T.R.U.S.T. was
scheduled to run up against the original STAR TREK series, then in its
second season. Although FLASK drew a devoted and loyal following, it was
dropped by NABC after just 24 episodes. Ironically enough STAR TREK suffered
the same fate just one year later and, in 1989, HIP FLASK's big screen
debut would triumph over STAR TREK V at the summer box office.
