In an attempt to boost sales on his ailing DANGER GIRL title, Jeff Scott Campbell approached Active Images proposing a Hip Flask/Abbey Chase team up. "The Lost Diamonds of Time," a 50 page Giant-sized spectacular was the top selling book of 1998 and precipitated Campbell's DANGER GIRL motion picture deal with New Line, who were hoping to capture a small fraction of Flask's popularity on the big screen with a franchise of their own.

"It was such a blast to be able to work on my all time childhood favorite Hip Flask! I only wish that the high point of my career hadn't come and gone so soon. Oh god, I'm 27 and over the hill."

— Jeff Scott Campbell
