reviews

"Few comics have managed to match up to the sheer beauty of Ladronn's work and this is reason enough for this edition to be on anyone's want list. This is without doubt a classic piece of comics history."

— Paul Skevington , SFCrowsnest

"This is a stunning piece of art. Really magnificent."

— Greg Burgas , Comics Should Be Good

"This hyperkinetic blend of Blade Runner, Moebius, The Maltese Falcon, Doctor Who, maybe a dash of director Luc Besson, and a heavy dose of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom has congealed to form some seriously enjoyable science fiction."

— Off the Presses , Scoop

"All in all I really enjoyed it, and I intend to pick up the next compilation."

— Celisasu , Lost Marbles

"One of the most beautiful comic book collections I've ever seen. Ladrönn's artwork is absolutely fantastic. Worth every penny."

— Sal , Around Comics Podcast

"Wow. Absolutely amazing. The art, the words, the characters, the sense of wonder and horror strikes you all at once."

— A. Yelikli , Amazon.com review

"I just spent most of my time looking through this book with my mouth agape. It's like a magic mud puddle, half an inch deep but able to reflect all the colors of the world so vividly you swear you never truly saw them until then."

— Jeff Lester , The Savage Critic

"Concrete Jungle raises issues of scientific ethics and responsibility, racism, economics, and even provokes some thought on law enforcement and prisons, without ever getting horribly preachy or boring in the slightest."

— dragonwomant , Bookspot Central

"I was so hapy to have snagged this bad boy that I kind of smiled when I went to sit and read it. And I did. And I loved it."

— Chris Hansbrough , Geek Syndicate

Why "Widescreen"?

Both this and our Unnatural Selection hardcover are large-format "European"-sized books, measuring nearly 9" x 12.5" (or 22.5cm x 32cm, now that we're talking European). That means not only is the book 20% larger than the standard American comic, it's also 2 inches (5.5cm) wider! This means you get even more eyeball-melting Ladrönn artwork on every page.

Below are a couple of pages from the book to illustrate the difference...
